Neighborhoods by Elevated Train - Downtown Loop on BeamZ

Chicago's iconic elevated train system dates back to the 19th century and is one of the city's most identifiable features. From these elevated trains and stations, you get incredible views of the surrounding neighborhoods and architecture you can't get at street level. The "Neighborhoods by Elevated Train" series hops on and off public trains to discover Chicago's neighborhoods, see beautiful architecture, and learn all about this iconic public transit system.

The Loop neighborhood is Chicago's central business district and today is named after the elevated trains forming a five-by-seven block loop through it. From the elevated train level, there are extraordinary vistas of some of downtown's fantastic skyscrapers. Join on this "Downtown Loop" experience as we ride through one of the densest areas of the United States, talk about how the elevated train loop was created, and get some really special city views.

There’s no registration cost, but tips are appreciated. All you have to do is register in advance here, and then watch the live-streamed tour from any web browser.
