Jackson Park: The 1893 Fair to the Obama Center
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Tour Description
Jackson Park is one of Chicago’s most magnificent, storied public spaces. It hosted the epic World’s Fair of 1893, including the iconic White City, and is still to this day the most attended event in American history. Discover the story behind the amazing 1893 Fair, its legacy, and connections to the exposition that can still be found throughout the park, including the Statue of The Republic, the Japanese Garden, and the former Palace of Fine Arts.
Jackson Park’s newest addition is the Obama Presidential Center, a 19-acre campus filled with spectacular architecture, public art, gardens, playgrounds, and more. This entirely outdoor tour highlights the wonderful public spaces that do not require ticketed admission.
Supplementing the experience, attendees can access a hidden webpage with historical photos and videos to view on their mobile devices. This webpage will be referenced throughout the tour and is a great resource that takes you back in time as if you were exploring the 1893 Fair yourself.
I hope to see you soon on this one-of-a-kind experience! 🎡🇺🇸
