One of the things I love about creating tours is discovering all the rich history hiding around us. There are so many amazing stories explaining Chicago's evolution to where we are today. The "Chicago History" series focuses on revealing these tales.
Of February 14, 1929, seven men associated with George "Bugs" Moran's North Side Gang were lined up in a garage and gunned down by four unknown assailants, two of which were dressed like police officers. It is widely believed that Al Capone's Chicago Outfit arranged this assassination targeting their Prohibition Era rival, but nobody was ever charged with the murders. This event more than any other defined Chicago's mob era garnering international infamy.
This tour shares the story of what led up to the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, the people involved, what we know that happened, and its legacy. We will see sites tied to this historical event and rely heavily upon uploaded photos. The subject matter and images shared are grisly, so this tour is not recommended for children or anyone else especially sensitive to this kind of content.
The story of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre is fascinating, and I look forward to sharing it all with you!
