Chicago's Neighborhoods - Ukrainian Village on BeamZ

Chicago has at least 77 neighborhoods (it depends on who you ask), each with its own histories, evolutions, landmarks, and unique characteristics. The "Chicago's Neighborhoods" series reveals these stories and highlights the diversity of this wonderful city.

Chicago has one of the largest Ukrainian-American populations in the country, and it is most concentrated in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood. Ukrainian immigrants began settling in the neighborhood as early as the 1880s and later established community anchors celebrating their culture, like Saint Volodymyr Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, the Ukrainian Cultural Center, the Ukrainian National Museum, and Louis Sullivan's Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral. It's a really fascinating neighborhood to explore!

There’s no registration cost, but tips are appreciated. All you have to do is register in advance here, and then watch the live-streamed tour from any web browser.
