Chicago Icons Inside & Out - Marshall Field Building on Heygo

Chicago is filled with amazing architecture that is as wonderful on the interior as it is on the exterior. Some of these buildings are so significant, they are worthy of their own tours. With the “Chicago Icons Inside & Out” series, these legendary buildings are getting the attention they deserve.

State Street’s Marshall Field department store didn’t just revolutionize retailing in Chicago, it influenced the entire world. Marshall Field transformed shopping from a chore into a luxurious pastime, and that is embodied in its palace-like architecture and gorgeous Tiffany Studios designs. Guided by the “give the lady what she wants” mantra, Marshall Field catered to women customers at a time when women had very little autonomy outside of the home. There is so much beautiful design and wonderful history in what was once the world’s largest department store building, and I hope you can join for this special tour!

There’s no registration cost, but tips are appreciated. All you have to do is register in advance here, and then watch the live-streamed tour from any web browser.
