Chicago Icons Inside & Out - Sears (Willis) Tower & Skydeck on Heygo

Chicago is filled with amazing architecture that is as wonderful on the interior as it is on the exterior. Some of these buildings are so significant, they are worthy of their own tours. With the “Chicago Icons Inside & Out” series, these legendary buildings are getting the attention they deserve.

When the Sears Tower was completed in 1974, it was the tallest building in the world, and it held that title for decades. Today it’s known as the Willis Tower, and it is still an architectural marvel. Also in the building is the Skydeck, an observation deck with incredible views from the 103rd floor that also has a recently remodeled gallery doing a fantastic job of showing what makes Chicago special. The tour concludes with a walk out on The Ledge, a harrowing glass box sticking out from the building’s facade as shown in the picture above.
